During your first appointment, you will spend time getting to know your therapist, their approach and how they will create a collaborative, supportive space. You will also hear about their theoretical approach to therapy.
Based on the information shared with the therapist, you will create a plan for ongoing sessions that align with your therapeutic goals.
-
At Callahan Therapy & Consultation, we do not determine a set length of therapy sessions. We will collaborate with you on your goals, individually or as a couple, and determine the appropriate frequency for sessions. Because each client has a different idea of what they would like to accomplish in therapy, this question is best addressed in your initial session with your therapist.

On January 1, 2022, a ruling went into effect called the "No Surprises Act" which requires health care providers to render a "Good Faith Estimate" (GFE) for private pay care (those who are not using insurance nor will seek reimbursement from insurance). The GFE works to show the cost of items and services that are reasonably expected for your health care needs. The estimate is based on information known at the time it is created and is good until January 1st of the following year. The GFE does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment. You could be charged more if complications or special circumstances occur and will be provided a new GFE should this occur. If this happens, federal law allows you to dispute (appeal) the bill if you and your therapist have not previously talked about the change and you have not been given an updated GFE. Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act (PHSA), health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan, coverage, or a Federal health care program, or who are not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request, or at the time of scheduling health care items and services to receive a GFE of expected charges.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit http://www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

CTC is considered an out-of-network provider. This means fees are due at the time of service. Our services qualify for HSA and FSA accounts and may be reimbursable by insurance if you have out-of-network benefits. CTC provides documentation to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
As a proud supporter of military individuals and families, Melissa Callahan is a certified Tricare provider.
We recommend speaking with your insurance to understand your behavioral health benefits.
Questions to ask include:
Do I have mental health/behavioral health benefits?
What is the reimbursement rate for out-of-network providers?
Do I need pre-approval or a referral?
How many sessions per calendar year will my plan cover?
What is my out-of-network deductible?
